Considered Italy’s first design hotel, since 1999 the Gallery Hotel Art has been at once a hotel and an art gallery. Located on a small boulevard near the Lungarno Acciaioli and the iconic Ponte Vecchio, this Florence design hotel, a member of the Lungarno Collection, boasts a state-of-the-art style and a vital and joyous atmosphere. The walls of the hall and the rich library feature contemporary and modern art pieces that welcome guests.
“Creating Italy’s first design hotel has been a personal challenge. My intent was to develop a simple, yet elegant hotel and a contemporary meeting place”. These are the words of Architect Michele Bönan, who gave his contribution to making the Gallery Hotel Art a true jewel of the Florentine, Italian and European hospitality landscape.
The interiors of the design hotel are embellished by soft colors, like white, beige and turquoise glass, while the suites are furnished with elegant materials like linen, cashmere, Asian wood and Tuscan stone. The cherry on the cake is the Palazzo Vecchio Penthouse: sipping good Tuscan wine on the terrace overlooking Brunelleschi’s Dome and Palazzo Vecchio will be a truly unforgettable experience. Michelangelo can wait.
