Florence’s Gallery Art Hotel, a structure artistically blended with the Lungarno Collection, hosts a new contemporary art installation by Simone d’Auria: “WOW. The windmill for energy”.
Visitors and guests of the Tuscan city and Italy’s first ever design hote, will be able to admire an art work dedicated to renewable energy and have fun with ad hoc hashtags. On the facade of the Gallery Hotel Art on Vicolo dell’Oro, only a few steps from Ponte Vecchio, Simone D’Auria, an internationally known architect and designer, in partnership with Arturo Montanelli, has installed giant pinwheels to sensitize the public to the importance of clean energy, such as wind energy.
The installation is completed by the 3-D writing “WOW”, which is seized by tourists and passers-by who take selfies and share pictures on social networks using hashtags like #wowfirenze, #galleryhotelart and the geotag of the Lungarno Collection. Inside the hotel, which is owned by the Ferragamo Family, it is possible to admire an exhibition featuring the artist’s photographs and art objects.
The installation of Simone D’Auria’s “WOW. The windmill for energy” will be on display at the Gallery Hotel Art until December 31, 2016; admission is free of charge.
