San Gimignano

Seventy-two towers rising towards heaven – the Manhattan of the 13th century. San Gimignano is one of Italy’s best preserved medieval symbols and a UNESCO World Heritage. A must-visit, that can easily be combined with a visit to Colle Val d’Elsa and Volterra, to discover the past of the Etruscans in Tuscany.

Siena

A landmark city and World Heritage site, which comes to life in July and August during the famous Palio horserace. But the treasures and beauty preserved in this unique city are worth a trip all year round. The perfection of the irregular Piazza del Campo dominated by the Torre del Mangia, the beautiful facade of the cathedral, the frescoes of the Palazzo Comunale by Simone Martini and Ambrogio Lorenzetti, and the magnificent Majesty by Duccio, preserved in the cathedral’s museum. A visit to Siena can easily be added onto one of our many itineraries.

Since Michelangelo’s David was removed from the Piazza della Signoria in 1873, the monumental splendor of this unique masterpiece can be found in the setting of the Academy Gallery. Together with additional works of the Florentine genius, such as his four unfinished Prisoners and a statue of Saint Matthew, you may admire an outstanding collection of Florentine paintings from the thirteenth to the sixteenth century.

Tuscany

In collaboration with Felice Limosani, an artistic visionary, the Portrait Firenze exhibits the installation ‘Remember and Imagine’ a tribute to Florentine artisans who in the 500’s were able to create virtues and timeless beauty. A glass diamond kaleidoscope provides a digital interpretation of the marble floors of the Santa Maria del Fiore Duomo offering a symbolic metaphor of the human capacity to remember the past and imagine the future.

Val d'Orcia

Perfect balance between man and nature. Recognized as a World Heritage Site by Unesco, Val d’Orcia had long been celebrated by the painters of the Sienese school. The route that crosses the province of Siena and Grosseto, displays the most characteristic landscapes of Tuscany and a land full of beauty and history. Hills dotted with cypress trees, the “source square” of the Vignoni Thermal Bath, the Renaissance dream of Pienza and San Quirico d’Orcia in its Romanesque splendor. On the culinary side we recommend pici pasta, a glass of Brunello and some Tuscan pecorino cheese DOP.

Palio of Siena

The twelve districts of Siena are at combat in a race that perfectly resembles the spirit of this extraordinary city. The Palio race, with its horses and jockeys, dates back to the 13th century and is a manifestation of independence, pride and strength of glorious medieval times. The two races take place on July 2nd in honor of the Madonna of Provenzano, and on August 16th on the day of the Assumption. Discover what drives the participants to give it their all – a once in a lifetime event not to miss!
